My name is Owen. In a nutshell, I am a photographer by trade and passion. An environmentalist by degree. Musician by heart. Lover of the arts. Crusader for wildlife and humanitarian issues.
Born in Kalgoorlie – a town known for the gold rush and its mining. I grew-up in suburban Perth where I developed my interests in sport, wildlife and the arts.
In 2016, I married an amazing, talented and beautiful French woman who I met in my home town of Perth. She empowers, challenges and encourages me to pursue the crazy-great ideas that forever buzz inside my brain.
I have extensive experience as an interior design, architecture and real estate photographer. I enjoy the work. I really dig design. I am a creative person, so to be able to create imagery on a daily basis for work is so rewarding.
My passion is in portraiture.
There is something so profound in the human spirit that I try to engage with my photography.
I love working with people.
I find people to be so interesting. Their stories, adventures, ideas and passions are so intriguing I can’t help but want to know more about them. It’s probably why I am such a good listener. There is so much to explore, create and do.
I am a traveller. My camera is my journal. From the streets of Europe to the treks of the Himalayas, the deserts of out-back Australia or the forests of the Amazon. These opportunities have enabled me to meet and share moments, stories and time with some remarkable people. It’s this connection with people that brings me the most joy and satisfaction in life and what I want to share with you through photography.
I’m not a serious person. I’d rather make jokes and enjoy the company I am in.
Life is way too short to sweat the small stuff.
I walked 600km from Kalgoorlie to Perth for the Fred Hollows Foundation raising $12,000 for the organisation.
I play classical/Spanish guitar. Often to a small audience, my pet bird Mr Ousieau.
My signature dance move is “Bojangles”, which has been likened to Irish dancing but without the movement, grace, excitement or co-ordination.
I have 4 awesome brothers and we often write D-grade music with each other. To date we have 3 Christmas albums and two EP’s.
I was the lead actor in a feature length movie my brother directed when we were kids called “Ninjas of 4”
My favourite place in the world is currently the Himalayan region of Nepal. It is the most majestic destination I have been too.
I am passionate about the environment and the animals within it. Often lost in natures splendour or taking care of people’s pets or wildlife.
My favourite cartoon is Samurai Jack
